Pre-Requisites: GCSE “N” Level pass in English and Mathematics. Broadly equivalent to WPL Level 5 and WPN – Intermediate Level. Anyone with an interest may benefit from a solid foundation of knowledge provided by this course

COURSE INFORMATION

The course serves as an introduction for learners who are entering the industry for the first time or a timely refresher for experienced professionals who need to move forward with the times, away from more traditional technologies.

This unit has been developed to enable the learner to have the opportunity to build on the foundational knowledge and abilities related to Security Command and Control Centre

Additionally, the learner will get a grasp of the principles of information communication systems. The learner will learn about the how the industry has developed, how the industry is currently regulated, and the use of security surveillance information communication systems in varying contexts.

  • The learner will be able to identify areas for surveillance equipment deployment with rationale
    The learner is able to select the appropriate types of surveillance equipment for Security Command and Control Centres
  • The learner is able to explain the organisational procedures for surveillance operations in Security Command and Control Centres
  • The learner is able to list and explain the different types and uses of surveillance equipment
  • The learner is able to explain the basic rules of surveillance system design
  • The learner is able to understand the different factors affecting the achievement of surveillance objectives in Security Command and Control Centres
  • The learner is able to formulate surveillance operation plans for Security Command and Control Centres

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • The learner will be able to take into consideration an organisation’s surveillance operations procedures and objectives to identify areas and rationale for deployment of appropriate surveillance equipment within the relevant legislative requirements.
  • The learner will be able to select appropriate types of surveillance equipment for a Security Command & Control Centre taking into consideration the procedures and objectives of an organization, as well as the regulatory environment.
  • The learner will be able to implement and monitor project implementation of surveillance systems in a Security Command & Control Centre and ensure that site acceptance tests meet operational requirements.
  • The learner will be able to plan and prioritise investigation cases in accordance with criticality and urgency of assignments and formulate contingency plans for effective deployment of surveillance operations in a Security Command & Control Centre.

MODE OF LEARNING

Primary mode of learning for this course is Face-to-Face Classroom session. This will be supplemented with interactive Practical sessions which serves to connect newly-learned knowledge and skills with the realities of the workplace and jobs.

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding:

$4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year

AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee

Note: Courses/Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim
